To this day (28th/march/2020) Corona Virus or in other words COVID-19, has already taken 27,352 number of lives out from this world, and 436,072 number of people are at the dead end of leaving this world [1]. I’m sure this one fact is enough to prove how dreadful Corona Virus can be to human beings.
However, have you ever come across that famous saying,
“Every dark cloud has a silver lining”? Yes, it is definitely the deadliest
monster to fight by any person with this virus, but at the same time, are you
aware about the positive consequences that this same tragic disaster has
brought out to the world?
If you’re still reading me, I like to convey some of my
ideas to prove my point. The very first thing that this virus was able to do
is, locking up the people in their houses while giving the chance to the animals
to freely wander outside. Throughout the past years, what happened in every
country was the opposite of this. People always prison the animals, and free
them only when there is a need to the people. Therefore, now for the first time
in thousands of years you will be able to listen to the songs that birds sings
without any fear, animals wander on the earth freely. This is one of the biggest
positive results of this tragic disaster.
Further, it is statistically proven
that currently there is a sudden drop of the environmental pollution[2]. Hence,
almost all the industries are under lock-down, as a preventive action of
spreading the virus, the air pollution has been reduced. This means, it is now
only after your birth you actually breath in clean air. According to NASA, nitrogen dioxide levels across
eastern and central China have been 10-30%
lower than normal[2]. One of the largest drops in pollution
levels could be seen over the city of Wuhan, in central China, which was put
under a strict lock-down in late January.
The birds who never flew over the factories have started to
dance over those chimneys happily. Even the noise pollution has been reduced to
its minimum values, because no traffic on the roads, no horns are screaming
early in the morning on the roads, roads are embraced with peacefulness only.
In addition, it is not a secret that people had to engage in
a race with their lives because of the rapid growth of the society along with
the stiff competition in the world. Not only the adults but also the children
from their early age, had to engage in this race. But due to all the lock-downs,
curfews which are imposed by the governments of the countries all over the
world, people have got a chance to stay with their family members throughout
the day. People have got the chance to try out a food recipe that they always
wanted to try out and share it with the family, or to read a book that they
always wanted to but never found time, to do some gardening and make their
gardens beautiful, to engage in a hobby that adults always wanted to do which
they missed to do after their childhood. Now I assume this is the best time to
take your time and think what kind of a race you were trapped in. Take that
call that you wanted to take. Build up that friendship again.
Thousands of lives have been swallowed everyday by this tragic
disease but this paves the path for people to pay more attention to their
beliefs and to practice their religions more. Since, you cannot go outside during
this time period, allocate some time to go inside yourself, and develop your
spiritual perspective.
As I believe, Quarantine has never affected any life in a
negative manner. Yes, it might have delayed your working schedule, it might have
collapsed your country’s economy dramatically. But take your time and think. Is
that the life? Is money the life? At the end of the day what matters is the
relationships that you have built up during your life time. Because, without proper
relationships, nobody would care even if
you are on your death bed. To conclude, while reading this didn’t you ever
think COVID-19 is that silver lining in the dark cloud? Always think positively
and spread positivity.
As per the World Health Organization’s Director General,
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesuse says, “COVID-19 takes so much from us, but It’s
also giving us something special. The opportunity to come together as one
humanity, to work together, to learn together, to grow together” [3].
While I’m wishing rest in peace to the people who have
already left this world and a speedy recovery to all the people who are still
suffering I will keep my pen down with following questions.
Have you ever imagined how beautiful this world is becoming
day by day? But I wonder how long it will last? For how long will people remember
what a beautiful world this is?
